The Best Blogs You’re Not Reading

As you all know, I love reading blogs…and I have a giant list of blogs to read (which just keeps growing, exponentially!).  That’s why I don’t have a blog roll…it would take me way too long to create it and keep it updated.  However, there are a lot of cool blogs that I read and I would love to be able to give them a shout-out.   And that’s where this series comes in! 

Maybe once a week or so, I’ll shout out one or two of my favorite blogs.  You can check ‘em out, add ‘em to your Reader, and then come back and tell me that I do, in fact, read a lot of great blogs—HA!  So let’s get started shall we?  And today’s blog could not be a more appropriate one to start us out.  Why?  Because it is, hands down, my favorite blog.

So, the first Best Blog You’re Not Reading is called Enjoying the Small Things.  {Please note that the site plays music when you visit}  It’s the gorgeous photography and musings of the lovely Kelle Hampton, a mother/wife/blogger/photographer living in Naples, Florida.  She and her husband Brett have four beautiful children:  two teenage boys (Brett’s from a previous marriage) and two daughters:  4 year old Lainey and 1 year old Nella.  Nella has Down Syndrome.  Today is World Down Syndrome Day.

I first found Kelle’s blog right after her daughter Nella was born.  Her story broke my heart at first, but as I read more and looked closer, I realized it’s really a story of love and hope and happiness.  Her blog is not about Down Syndrome.  Does she talk about it?  Sure, sometimes.  But this blog is so much more than that—it’s about love and life and passions and family and creating the life you want to live.  Kelle’s words always ring true and she’s managed to craft a beautiful, crazy, wonderfully perfect life…the type of life I want to craft for our family.  Messy at times, peaceful at others—it’s a wonderful life filled with fun traditions, beautiful memories, and most importantly, love and joy and laughter.

This is one of the first blogs I click on every day.  I read it religiously and sometimes save up the entries so I can read multiple at one time.  So go check out Enjoying the Small Things.  Read the story of Nella’s birth, but then stay a bit longer and read more of Kelle’s stories.  I promise, you won’t be disappointed.
