A Very Pinterest Christmas
Thank you so much for your kind comments, tweets and emails yesterday. We read every single one and they mean so much to us! We’re doing ok and know that C is in a better place.
Let’s talk something not so morbid and a little more fun today, ok? Like…..Christmas! Yeah, I know Thanksgiving is only on Thursday, and some of you Scrooges aren’t ready to talk Christmas yet…but I am, so here we go.
This year, I thought I’d do a little something different to celebrate Christmas on the blog this December. Y’all know how much I love Pinterest, and it’s been well-documented that I use/buy/eat/create a lot of the things I pin. I attribute this to my semi-soft policy of “No Bullshit Pins.” Some people pin stuff just to pin stuff, and that’s not me. I pin things I want to remember to use/buy/eat/create, and then I try to do just that! I say semi-soft because sometimes I pin things I think are cute/pretty/funny, like animals, scenery and quotes, but for the most part I try to use Pinterest as just what it’s intended for: a virtual bulletin board.
So this December, I’m introducing……
Logo designed by me in Microsoft Word. I used this Christmas Lights font from dafont.com,
+ a font as close to the Pinterest logo as I could find (Brush Script MT, standard in MS Word),
and the signature font from my blog, which is Pea Bhea Script from Fonts for Peas
Yep, that’s right: A Very Pinterest Christmas. I’ll be showcasing posts that have gift ideas, Christmas crafts, recipes, and décor inspired from things I’ve pinned on Pinterest. And I’d love it if you joined me! ANYTHING inspired by Pinterest applies. Just make sure you’re linking not only to your pins, but also to the ORIGINAL blog posts. We want everyone to get credit for the cool things they’re making, right? I don’t know how to make buttons, but feel free to copy and paste my A Very Pinterest Christmas logo on the posts you are using to participate. And link ‘em up here so I can see what you’re making! Now get pinning and get creative…and get ready for Christmas!
Do you actually USE Pinterest or do you just like to pin stuff?

AAAHHH!!! OK, so I’m brand spakin’ new to Pinterest and I LOVE IT SO MUCH OMG. I never knew what I was missing out on but now…now I’m freaking HOOKED. I’m so doing this. YAY, it gives me something to blog about!!
And to answer your question, even though I’m new I try to pin things that are actually helpful to me. I have a “Funnies” board where I pin things that make me laugh, but it has to be really funny (to me) for it to go up there. I don’t really want to post “Dream Homes” or things that I know will just never happen. But man, do I love that freaking site.
I do use Pinterest! I’ve made a couple of FAB recipes and made a few decorating projects. But I’m also guilty of BS pins. Some of those quotes and pics and such are HILARIOUS. Sometimes you just need a board with useless but funny crap to pick you up after a crappy day.
Love it. I’m in!
Oooh, I’m definitely looking forward to this!
Hopefully I can put something to use as far as decor because I’ve definitely made food off of pins and LOVED it. Very fun idea Amy!
