Florida 2012
I’m back, y’all! Last week we ventured down to sunny Florida with my parents and sister for some sun and fun. It was awesome and super relaxing and the week went by way too quickly.
Here we all are at a local bar
This was the view from our condo balcony. We were right on the beach!
Every day we saw dolphins and sting rays. I couldn’t get a great picture of either of them, but here’s a dolphin anyway.
We stayed on Okaloosa Island in Fort Walton Beach, which is VERY close to Eglin Air Force Base. Eglin is the one of the world’s largest bases, and it was AWESOME to be so close to it. Every day cool planes and helicopters would fly right over us and very near the beach.
Just an example: see how close to the beach these two copters are?! Crazy. It was really cool.
We spent the majority of our time on the beach, but we also went to the Air Force Armament Museum one day and ventured out for various meals. I read SIX books during the seven day stretch we were in Florida:
Bloom, by Kelle Hampton (review coming)
False Pretenses, by Catherine Coulter
The Beach House, by James Patterson
Moscow Rules, by Daniel Silva
The Defector, by Daniel Silva
and The Rembrandt Affair, also by Daniel Silva.

It was a great trip and I would be lying if I said I wasn’t sad to be back. I was NOT ready to go back to work yet!
How was your week?

Looks like a blast! Ft. Walton beaches are the BEST beaches!
Wow, those helicopters were so close, how neat! I loved visiting Florida for the first time last year, and sounds like you guys had a blast too!
Sounds like you had an amazing time! And the beach looks picture perfect…
It ws a great family vacation!!
Say hello to your parents that next time you see them. We miss them as neighbors. Your old house has been for sale since before I was pregnant…and now my son is 17 months. No neighbors will ever be as good as them!
Fun! I live in Orlando, you were close
