On Maternity Clothes: Follow-Up

July 13, 2012

Wow, you guys are great!  So many awesome comments on my previous post, with plenty of great tips.  I also received some emails and texts from some of you as well, with more tips and ideas.  It was really very helpful and I placed an order some new maternity clothes yesterday.  Old Navy is having a great sale (it ends 7/18), where if you use your Gap/Old Navy/Banana card, you receive 30% of your entire order at checkout.  I ended up ordering:

One pair of jeans.  I already have a pair with a full panel, and they are starting to cut off at the wrong part of my bump (I think I am carrying kind of high).  I decided to try one with a lower panel that sits below my bump instead, to see how I like those.

Two pairs of leggings.  I am SO excited for these.  I have a lot of long sweater + boot combinations that will be great for the fall, and I think these will be so comfortable with long tanks and tees through the rest of the summer as well.

One chambray tunic.  A friend recommended this one to me.  Looks cute for summer, but in the fall I can throw a long-sleeve tee underneath, too!

And another ribbed tank.  I love Old Navy’s maternity tanks and already own three of them, but I thought it would be great to grab a white one as well.

I still plan to also invest in one or two maxi dresses (PS:  great tips on what to wear to prevent thigh rubbage, everyone!), a nice pair of yoga pants, some long sleeve tees from the Gap (to use in the fall) and a few new bras (as soon as I can hit the Destination Motherhood store in my area).

I have a lot of cardigans & button up sweaters, so with all of these layering pieces, I think I can transition to fall just fine.

So thanks for your help everyone!  I feel a lot better about where I’m at and I can’t wait to see how these new pieces fit me.

In other news, we’re FINALLY MOVING TO THE NEW HOUSE TOMORROW!  Woohoo!  Wish us luck!

YAYYY! Good luck with the move. I FINALLY caved and bought four new bras the other day from Target for $20 total! :) Gotta love clearance! … they are SO comfortable and SO much better than the ill-fitting pre-preg bras I was literally STUFFING myself into! LOL

I def have to invest in a pair of maternity jeans and leggings for the fall! :) Can’t wait for you to get everything in! And yay for online maternity shopping, makes it SO much easier to get done!

I used Body Glide when I was training for the marathon, but alas, no dice. ;) The only thing that’s ever worked for me has been shirts/spanx!
