Our Baby Shower
This past weekend was our baby shower! It was held at my parents’ house. They live on a lake and have a huge backyard, and it was the perfect setting. It was a little chilly out, but we made do just fine. Here’s all the details!
It was a brunch shower, so there was TONS of delicious foods. This is the pastry spread. Aside from this we also had cheesy potatoes, scrambled eggs, bacon roll-ups, shredded ham, and more! We also had a bar, because you know what? Just because I can’t drink doesn’t mean everyone else shouldn’t be able to either. We served orange juice, coffee, water, blood marys, screwdrivers, and beer. It was rockin’. I HIGHLY recommend that for anyone planning a shower!

The outdoor tent we rented in case of inclement weather. Most people mingled around the lawn, but the tent was great wind protection while we were eating, too.
My mom in front of the pastries/fruit. I didn’t get a picture of B’s mom, but the shower was hosted by my mom, B’s mom, and my best friend together. It was co-ed and involved both sides of our families AND our friends. When all was said and done I think we had like 45 people there!
My BFF made me a diaper motorcycle. Freakin’ awesome. Sadly, neither my Badgers NOR my Packers did very well this past weekend.
This is me and my cousin Jill. I don’t have too many posed shots with a lot of people, but I thought it was a good one to show you the bump (and the lake my parents live on!).
This is B (on the left) and my BFF’s husband with their daughter Sophie. She freakin’ LOVES B…look at the death grip she has on his finger, haha!
We had cake too, because what is a shower without cake?!
My parents’ dog Zack also got a lot of practice around babies. Since day one when my parents adopted him, they’ve tried to acclimate him to children since they knew he would be around potential grandkids one day. My dad has taught him that it’s ok for littles to tug his ears & tail, how to be gentle when rough-housing, and how to lick nicely and not bite. It’s really awesome actually. All the neighborhood kids love him, too. This is our friend Jill and her son Bennett, who’s about 8 months old. Zack was very concerned about Bennett and Sophie the whole party. If either of them cried he was right there, like, “Hey what’s going on?!” This photo is right before he gave Bennett a few good licks, haha. [Jill, if you’re reading this, I am sending you some of these photos when I get a chance!]
We received many very nice gifts and a lot of clothes! Baby Boy is definitely outfitted for quite awhile.
It really was a wonderful day and such a nice way to celebrate with family and friends. Many thanks to everyone who celebrated with us, and thank you TONS to our wonderful hostesses!

It was such a great day and fun shower! So glad we could be there! Baby boy is definitely loved already
Love the picture of Bennett and Zack! Zack was so cute and good with the babies! We are now convinced that B needs a dog when we have more room.
This looked like so much fun! What a lucky girl. And you look gorgeous Amy.
aww, it looks like you guys had so much fun! Sorry we couldn’t be there, I thought of you while I was sitting in what turned out to be a not so fun continuing education class! Talk to you soon!
